Amber is fossilized resin from ancient pine trees. The sap that produced this amber deposited in the Baltic Sea Region between 40million years ago, some even over 100 million years. Amber occurs in all shapes, sizes and shades ranging from white to yellow, orange, to brown, even green (moss) and cherry color. Each piece has inclusions that may include air bubbles, plants or even preserved species of insects.
The popularity of amber extends beyond its use in modern jewelry. Amber is known to have metaphysical properties that are said to provide health, luck and spiritual healing. No two pieces of amber are alike, but all are treasured.
