Mission:The mission of the Center for Community & Business Research is to conduct high-quality applied research at the intersection of community and business.

Who We Help: We help businesses, government, the media, and the public understand the world better.

Center for Economic Development

Mission: Provide technical, research, training, and information assistance to those engaged in economic and community development activities in the 47-county South Texas region.

Who We Help: Local governments, communities, nonprofit groups, councils of government, economic development districts, chambers of commerce, and organizations engaged in economic and community development activities

Human Capital Program

Mission:To be the primary resource for successfully managing human capital — the people side of small business.

Who We Help: Small and medium-sized businesses

IRS Compliance Alliance

Mission:To help small businesses understand their IRS tax requirements

Who We Help: New small businesses via Small Business Development Centers and IRS workshops throughout the United States

San Antonio Minority Business Enterprise Center

Mission:To help minority entrepreneurs start and expand their businesses by providing professional technical and management assistance.

Who We Help: San Antonio area businesses with at least 51% ethnic minority ownership.

SBDC National Information Clearinghouse

Mission:Dedicated to meet the information needs of SBDC counselors within the U.S. and its territories.

Who We Help: SBDC clients via their SBDC counselors.

SBDC South-West Texas Border Region

Mission:To help small businesses start and grow by assisting in job creation, economic diversification and business expansion.

Who We Help: New and existing small businesses via Small Business Development Centers within the 79-county South-West Texas Border Region.

SBDC San Antonio

Mission: To assist current and potential small business owners to achieve success by providing professional business advice in a consistent, efficient and friendly manner that creates value for the client.

SBDC Technology Center

Mission: To assist small business contractors and technology entrepreneurs to access government contracts and grants; enable them to participate actively in defense transition and government procurement outsourcing opportunities; and facilitate both research and development as well as commercialization of new products and technologies that creates value for the client.

Who We Help: Small business contractors and technology entrepreneurs

Southwest Trade Adjustment Assistance Center

Mission:Assists U.S. manufacturing firms hurt by import competition to regain profitable growth. The Southwest TAAC helps its clients document their technical needs; then plan, implement and pay for the highest qualitly technical assistance available.

Who We Help: Manufacturing firms in Texas, Oaklahoma, and Louisiana where imports of directly competitive products have contributed significantly to a decline in their sales or production and a decline or impending decline in their employment levels.
