Identity Guidelines

SWTX Border Region Centers must also adhere to ASBDC Accreditation guidelines located here.

The Institute for Economic Development is proud to be a flagship outreach program for the University of Texas at San Antonio. As a part of our mission to be a leader in our community, it is also important that we maintain consistent branding that is inline with our host.

Part of maintaining a consistent identity is adhering to established structure for print and web documents. This includes color scheme, logo placement and effective use of the grid. It is critical to use the provided templates as part of an effective marketing strategy.

We offer these guidelines as a starting point for hired designers to ensure that any documents produced outside the Institute are consistent with those produced internally.

Approval

Each center is responsible for seeing that its print materials meet the standards set forth in this Web site so that all center publications convey a consistent image of the Institute. However, George Marez, Robert McKinley, or Al Salgado  also are responsible for reviewing all printed materials—both internal and external—to ensure compliance with the institute's visual identity standards.

When preparing to print any type of publication, call the George Marez (ext. 2737) to arrange to have the publication reviewed before it is printed. Be sure to leave room in your production and printing schedule to have the publication reviewed and to make any necessary changes. Three working days are needed to review short pieces, such as postcards, posters and flyers. Longer pieces, such as brochures, programs or newsletters require five working days. You will be notified in advance if more time is required to review your publication.

When submitting a proof to University Communications for approval, you must complete and attach the following form to your proof.
