UTSA and key Mexican partners release preliminary report on impacts of energy reform on the Mexican Economy

(San Antonio, May 28, 2015) – The University of Texas at San Antonio’s Institute for Economic Development, the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, the Asociación de Empresarios Mexicanos, and the Woodrow Wilson Center are set to release a preliminary report to gauge the growth and the effects that the oil and natural gas industry will have for residents and decision makers in Mexico. The report contains a general overview on the Energy Reform, an economic background on oil and natural gas (especially trade between US and México) a state level profile, infrastructure and educational certificates specific to oil and natural gas education. UTSA Institute for Economic Development hosts Small Business Administration Town Hall event May 6

The UTSA Institute for Economic Development was one of five organizations nationally to be selected as a host for a Small Business Administration (SBA) Town Hall as part of National Small Business Week. The Town Hall will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6 in the Buena Vista Building Aula Canaria (BV 1.328) room at the UTSA Downtown Campus. SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet, a member of President Obama’s Cabinet, will lead the discussion on “Access to Capital: Fueling the Financial Engine of Small Business Growth” and agency initiatives to address the opportunities and challenges facing entrepreneurs.
